We were delighted to host Jeremie, Gabriel, Thomas and Damien from Grenoble, who made a first visit to India in August. Amongst their skills, they were able to introduce mime to college students and school classes. Mime easily overcame our obvious language barrier of little English or no French, and also built confidence and a new method of communication to add to song, dance and drama. They helped us celebrate the completion of the first year of Pragati Marg Co-operative group in Paba by demonstrating good business skills in a mimed skit.
At the school in Kotra, the team introduced some songs in French, and explained a little about Grenoble and France. The children were excited to have these visitors. A similar programme of songs and mime was popular with pupils in Jhadol and Udaipur schools and children’s hostels.
The boys at Panarwar hostel were delighted to play with their new sports equipment – footballs, frisbees, and cricket bats. Some of the more bold boys took advantage of strumnming the guitar, too!
We look forward to seeing these and new friends from Grenoble in the future. Thank you all for bringing much joy into our lives!

We are delighted to see boys at Panarwar Hostel proudly wearing their new outfits, and using the school bags provided through the generous donations of our supporters. The smiles on the boys’ faces say it all! Thank you.
We plan to raise money for new mattresses, and also to do essential repairs to the kitchen. With 51 boys this year, addtitional rooms are very much needed, too. We hope to afford good cement rooves rather than the current corrugated metal.
St Matthews’ schools in Udaipur and Jadhol are much in demand. Although at Jhadol buildings and facilities are under construction, 160 children are on roll this term- families eager for good education for their children are pressing for admission. Residential facilities onsite are urgently needed now in this rural area.
With your partnership, works can continue to give access to quality schooling for these children.

We are delighted that the clothing for the boys at Panerwa Hostel has been stitched at the Jeevan Jyothi Tailoring Centre – both the materials and the skill development are supported through the generosity of I-connect sponsors. We look forward to the photographs showing the boys receiving their new outfits. Indeed – thank you to everyone involved!
It’s also good to note the addition of new trainees, and that the Jeevan Jyothi Centre has a thriving workforce and regular business.

Newsletter on Various Projects April_2012
