January 2010 – a team travelling to Udaipur

We anticipate travelling to Udaipur with a team of 15 people in January 2010. There will be 5 days of medical ‘camps’ in rural districts. People in these villages have little or no access to medical care. In addition, there will be other tasks for members of the team working with children, the school, and the community projects. Mark and I will be planning with NMM staff for the future focus of financial and volunteer partnership through I-connect.
We hope to keep the blog updated whilst we are in India– check the site between 5th and 16th January for latest news from Mark and myself.

Coming to the end of another wonderful year

I-connect and NMM would like to thank you – our sponsors, volunteers and friends – for all that you have done to enable our partners , NMM India, this year. You will have seen from each newsletter that progress has been fast! Even this last month Anand Khuntia has written to tell us of other recent developments which will feature in forthcoming news sheets:
Tailoring Centre
In November, Brother Alexander joined the tailoring centre as a trainer. Because of him, many changes and developments resulted at the tailoring centre. Five new high-speed sewing machines, one over lock machine, ordinary buttonhole machine, four irons, and stitching tools for shirts, seating and a carpet on the floor have been purchased. Also an iron door has been fitted and glass put in the windows.
Medical Centre
Good toilets and a bathroom for patients are being installed. This work will finish soon. (Generous sponsors have made this possible). A new refrigerator and a baby-weighing machine for the medical centre have been purchased along with a new gas stove for heating water and a steriliser for surgical instruments.

I-connect and NMM are so grateful to you. We hope that you are delighted with what you read each month.

ST Matthew’s School – recreation area to be developed

The final news sheet of 2009 is all about plans for an outdoor play and sports area at St Matthew’s School. This is a major development that will be most beneficial to the children and young people and will add significantly to the curriculum. We hope that the pictures and diagrams in the news sheet help you get a sense of what is envisaged. Click on the Project Report to read more
